This past Sunday, Pastor Colt Emswiler shared a message about the Book of Psalms.
He taught us that the songs in this book (which vary in theme and category) are meant to serve as an access point to the presence of God. As we pray, sing, and meditate on them we will inevitably be led into the presence of God, because they are inspired by Him.
He encouraged us to pray the Psalms as we realized that they speak for us, portraying the very essence of the human heart.
This permission to cry out to God invites us to process our frustrations with the King, and it is in this process that we can connect to the reality of who He is, and what He’s done for us.
Whether in victory or pain, the Book of Psalms will provoke us to pray!
