Friendship with God is fearing God.
This past Sunday, Pastor Bill shared with us the importance of knowing God as a friend on His terms, not ours.
Holy awe and reverence for God and radical obedience to His commands is true friendship with God. (Psalm 25)
When we have a healthy fear of the Lord in our lives, we experience a deeper intimacy and closeness with the Father.
Let’s draw near to His heart by dying to ourselves and following His ways.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
This past Sunday, Vanessa Emswiler taught from the book of Ruth. She shared that the virtues Ruth displayed toward her widowed mother-in-law embodied the character of Jesus.
Ruth's meekness, faithfulness, and other virtues paved the way for God's redemption plan in their stories.
Vanessa challenged us to allow the Lord to form these virtues in our lives and not choose our own way. She also encouraged us to look to the Old Testament stories to shape our understanding of Jesus' teachings and life in the New Testament.
Let us take hold of these virtues as we become more like Christ.

We need sound doctrine. 📖
This past Sunday, Pastor Colt shared about the importance of sound doctrine in the Church.
🕊 He taught that without an understanding of the law, we won't fully understand God's grace. As believers, we need both the Old Testament and the New Testament to inform our beliefs so we can share with others the truth, uninfluenced by culture and our personal opinions but based on His word.

We're anointed to minister to the Lord 🕊
Guest speaker Will Ford gave a convicting message on the fear of the Lord. He taught that the fragrance of our adoration and worship is pleasing to God. He challenged us not to fall into the religious spirit where we're focused on pleasing and serving others more than serving God.
God consecrated us to Himself to minister to Him. This consecration leads us into deeper intimacy with Him and to serving others from a place that leads people back to God, not ourselves. Will and his wife, Dehavilland, encouraged us to consecrate ourselves for the Glory of the Lord that's coming to Life Center Church NYC.

Stewarding the presence of God in our lives opens us up for more. ❤️
This past Sunday, Pastor Rich encouraged us that God's presence wants to be with us all the time, not just in our Sunday morning services or worship gatherings.
He taught us that even in our weakest moments, God will use our minimal pursuit of Him to produce fruit in our lives, even when it feels like nothing is happening.
We need God's nourishing presence to fill our lives so that we overflow into every sphere of our lives.

🚫 End the distractions & get caught up in what God is doing. ✝️
This Past Sunday, Pastor Colt encouraged us to stay focused on what God is doing amidst the controversies happening in the world and keep the unity in the body of Christ so we can reach the lost and see His Kingdom come in every sector.
He also encouraged us to be submissive toward leaders and pray for them - including our church elders, workplaces managers, and government officials. He taught us the importance of speaking up and standing for the Truth in love even when it goes against the culture or status quo.

God stretched out His hand for us ❤️
This past Easter Sunday Pastor Bill spoke about the resurrection power of Jesus. God gave the perfect sacrifice, His son Jesus, for the forgiveness of our sins.
🕊 His power resurrected Jesus from the dead, defeating the power of sin and death for all eternity. We became dead to our old nature of sin and now we're alive in Christ!
Nothing can separate us from His love!

This past Sunday, Pastor Rich challenged us with this question, "Are we hungry and thirsty for more of God?"
The Lord gave us a taste of His Spirit He desires to pour out over the Church but are we seeking Him for more?
Rich encouraged us that while He satisfies our hunger and thirst every time we seek Him with an earnest heart, He always has more for us. He is the fountain that never runs dry ✝️
